CalHomeCo Construction is looking for a high-energy, ambitious and positive Construction Assistant Project Manager to continue to grow our building and remodeling business. We need someone that has experience in construction that is ready to grow and step into managing remodels, ground up and multi-family construction. Must be able to read and interpret plans, know current building code and facilitate bidding with sub-contractors. Must have experience in client relations. Must be able to manage project from cradle to grave with supervision. This is an entry level project manager role.

Role specifics:

  • Assist Senior Project Managers as needed.
  • Lead and oversee your own projects from start to finish.
  • Review budgets and billing to ensure projects are on track
  • Provide leadership and assistance where needed to keep project timelines tight
  • Design and improve construction processes to maximize efficiency
  • Monitor the team’s capacity and keep other leaders apprised BEFORE we have issues
  • Lead weekly construction team meetings - encourage the team and hold them accountable
  • Frequently make site visits and have a strong presence with crews
  • Oversee quality control and maintain safety standards
  • Communicate with vendors as needed
  • Provide technical direction and blueprint interpretation to crew and sub-contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud based project management and estimating software is a must.
  • 5+ years in construction, with some experience in a management / leadership role in ground up construction desired.
  • In depth knowledge of construction building codes and safety regulations.
  • Experience working with construction budgets and cost management software.
  • At ease working with technology and utilizing it to improve results.
  • Energetic, fast-paced, with strong communication.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Position is located in San Diego, CA. Must be located in San Diego. Local experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
