Description:
Position Summary: The Division of Inclusive and Accessible Learning (DIAL) sets policy and manages support operations for students with disabilities. The special education services offered in schools include interventions and strategies in the general education environment as well as more intensive outreach services provided to both community educational organizations and to District 75 (D75) specialized programs.
The Assistive Technology (AT) Associate will assist the Director of Assistive Technology in handling the assistive technology device inventory, preparation of various assistive technology devices for students, installation of applications/extensions and software for the devices and scheduling the delivery of devices to students as well as the return of devices to the Center for Assistive Technology office. The Associate will provide support to school staff, students, and parents as well as the AT Evaluation Team. In addition, the Assistive Technology Associate will support day-to-day communications, logistics, and maintaining inventory- and logistics-related data, and ensure that students receive their devices in working order and in compliance.
The Assistive Technology Associate assists in providing significant services to the special needs community and coordinates with other offices and divisions. The Associate will consider the legitimate contrasting needs of different constituencies when interacting with community leaders and educators and responding to their inquiries, gathering necessary information on their behalf, connecting them to other specialized resources, and addressing their concerns. Performs related work.

Key Relationships: Field Office Liaisons, Committees on Special Education (CSE)/Committees on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) Liaisons, Assistive Technology vendors, program/software vendors, assistive technology supervisors, CAT Evaluation Team, DIIT tech support staff, school staff, students, parents, and community contract agency providers.

$44,432 (New Hire Rate)
$51,094 - $54,568 (Incumbent - 2 years of full-time continuous City service)
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
