Position: Estimator

Salary: $110,00 - $120,000 /annually

Location: Oakdale, CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 3:45pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, analyzing proposals and blueprints, and collaborating with project managers to ensure project feasibility. The Estimator will play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining project timelines while ensuring the highest quality standards.

Duties and Responsibiltites:

• Review bid invitations, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and related materials
• Prepare estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts assuring proper accounting
• Read and understand job bid instructions and detailed specifications
• Estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costs
• Analyze historical data and current market pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids
• Ensure projects meet cost requirements
• Interface with necessary department and subcontractors to determine the scheduling of work and materials
• Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Meet with key personnel to ensure timelines of each project
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and post-bid negotiations
• Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure Weldway’s interests are protected
• Implementation of goals to increase Weldway Steel Fab, Inc.’s reputation with General Contractors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
