We’re hiring an Optics Technician to assemble and test electro‑optics (reflex sights). This hands-on role combines mechanical/electrical assembly and process discipline to produce high-quality assemblies that meet performance and reliability requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform mechanical assembly of reflex sights to work instructions.
- Install PCBs into housings; route and secure wiring as required.
- Affix RCLED components using controlled adhesive application (mix/dispense per spec, verify coverage/placement).
- Complete hand soldering of electrical connections (wire-to-pad, connector leads, rework as needed).
- Hand-off optical subassemblies to clean room team
- Perform in-process inspection (visual, torque/fit checks, workmanship standards) and record results.
- Maintain traceability and documentation (build travelers, lot numbers, cure logs, rework notes).
- Follow ESD and chemical handling requirements.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring defects, suggesting fixture/process enhancements, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation (5S).
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in precision assembly (electronics, optics, medical device, aerospace, or similar).
- Comfortable with small parts, fine motor work, and detailed workmanship standards.
- Soldering experience (through-hole/wire lead; SMT a plus).
- Experience with adhesives (mixing/dispensing/curing) and process control is a plus.
- Ability to follow written work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics.
- Strong attention to detail; able to work methodically and document accurately.
- Basic computer skills for logging builds and results.
Physical / Work Environment:
- Work involves fine hand assembly, microscope work, and handling small optical components.
- May require extended periods of sitting/standing and repetitive hand motions.
- Use of PPE and adherence to clean-room and chemical safety procedures required.
