Position: Sterile Processing Technician II

Contract: 8 weeks with strong possibility of extension
Schedule: 7.5 hours/day | 5 days/week (Flexible shifts, weekends/holidays as needed)
Guaranteed hours per week: 37.50
Pay: Up to $40/hour
Job Summary
Pride Health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician II for a contract opportunity in New York, NY. The technician will be responsible for decontamination, sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment
• Assemble, inspect, and package general and specialty surgical instrument trays
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and ensure proper documentation
• Conduct quality control testing and maintain sterilization records
• Inspect instruments for functionality, damage, and cleanliness
• Utilize instrument tracking systems for accurate documentation
• Prepare and dispatch surgical case carts based on OR schedules
• Ensure compliance with infection control and OSHA safety standards
• Transport, store, and distribute sterile supplies and equipment
• Assist with inventory management and equipment stocking
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
• CRCST Certification required
• 1–2 years of sterile processing experience
• Strong knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, and infection control practices
• Ability to operate automated sterilization and cleaning equipment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift, push, and move equipment as needed
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
