The Photography Educator / Event Producer supports the delivery of educational programming within the B&H Event Space, with a focus on leading and assisting with creative workshops, classes, and demonstrations related to photography, video, and creative technology. This role is designed for someone with working knowledge of photo and video who enjoys teaching and sharing knowledge with the creative community.
In addition to contributing to educational programming, the Photography Educator / Event Producer assists with the coordination and execution of in-store events, brand activations, and workshops. The role works closely with speakers, brand partners, and internal teams to help organize event logistics, support presenters, and ensure programming runs smoothly. The position is both customer-facing and operational, requiring strong communication skills, technical familiarity with photography and video equipment, and the ability to support event production in a fast-paced live event environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Lead and assist with workshops, classes, demonstrations, and presentations related to photography, video, lighting, audio, and creative technology.
• Share technical knowledge and product expertise with customers attending Event Space programming.
• Support visiting instructors, speakers, and brand representatives during educational sessions.
• Support the planning and execution of Event Space programming including workshops, brand activations, and educational events.
• Communicate with speakers, instructors, and brand partners to coordinate scheduling, logistics, and event requirements.
• Assist with organizing event bookings, calendars, and production timelines.
• Coordinate pre-event logistics including equipment needs, demo tables, presentation materials, and product displays.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of in-store events including seating, signage, demo tables, and equipment.
• Serve as a front-facing representative of the Event Space by welcoming guests and assisting attendees.
• Provide guidance and support to customers attending workshops, presentations, and demonstrations.
• Help maintain a professional and welcoming environment during live programming.
Key Skills & Qualifications
• Experience teaching workshops, classes, or demonstrations related to photography and/or video
• Working knowledge of photography, video, lighting, audio, or related creative tools and workflows
• Comfortable presenting in front of groups and engaging with customers in an educational setting
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and live event environment
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
